Prostatitis can be divided into two main sections...: Infection type & Blockage and Calcification

1 - Causative pathogens (infection type) also can be divided into three types:

  • Bacteria infection, like staphylococcus aureus, proteus, enterococcus infections, etc
  • Nonbacterial infection, such as fungus, chlamydia, mycoplasma, virus infections, and so on...
  • Mixed infection, for example, a patient has both bacterial infection and nonbacterial infection.

From the infected areas aspect, some prostatitis patients only have infection in prostate; some patients have infection in prostate, urethra, bladder, seminal vesicles, epididymis, etc.; and some patients also have whole body, like virus infection.

2 - Blockage and calcification, prostatitis can be divided into three types too:

  • Simple blockage
  • Blockage combined with calcification
  • Blockage and calcification exist in several places.

Every patient is different, so the treatment duration is different, and the treatment result is different.

Generally speaking, the shorter history a patient has, the less serious infection and blockage he has, and the shorter his treatment will be, and so the higher the chance that he can be cured in one trip.

On the other hand, a patient who has a longer history, with a more complicated infection, blockage and calcification, then he will need longer treatment. If he wants to be cured completely, he may need a second round of treatment or even more.
